Bail Bond Process

How do I bond someone out of jail?

Come to our office and fill out an application.  You will need two things. You will pay a bond fee for the service provided by our company. You will also need a cosigner to sign with the defendant who is bonding out of jail.

After you have completed an application in our office and paid our bond fee; one of our agents will go to the jail and post bail for the defendant.  He or she will then be released to the lobby of the Huntsville, Madison County Jail.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bail bond?

The Court requires that a criminal defendant post a bond in order to be released from jail.  A bond can be posted in cash, in property or by a professional bail bond company like ours.

What do I need for a bail bond?

You will need to pay a bond fee between 8 to 15% of the bond amount.  You will also need a cosigner to sign with the defendant being released from jail.  The cosigner will need to be employed at a full-time job for at least a year or be a homewoner.  The cosigner will also need a vaild Alabama I.D.

How long does it take to bond someone out of jail?

It takes approximately 1 to 2 hours.

Is the bond fee refundable?

No.  Once the bond has been posted for the criminal defedant and he or she has been released from jail;  the bond fee is the money earned for the service provided by the bonding company.

If I cosign for a person who misses court, what will be my responsibilty?

In most cases, the bonding company will be able to apprehend the defendant and return that person to jail.  As a cosigner, you are liable for the expense of the recovery agent or bounty hunter to apprehend the defendant.  If a bonding company is unable to return the defendant to jail, as a cosigner, you will be liable for the bail bond and court costs that will be paid to the Court.

Can I revoke a person's bond once they have been released from jail?

Yes, you can revoke a bond with the consent of the bonding company.  As the cosigner, you will have to pay for the expense of the recovery agent to return the defendant to jail.  Once the defendant is in jail, the bond has been revoked and you are released from the liability of the bond.
